Get Your Website To The Top Of Google
If you would like to build an online business, it would be in your best interest to get your website to the top of Google. Why? Well, for starters they have the market share in the search engine world. Most people go straight to Google when they are searching for a product or a service. This means that if you can get your website to the top of Google you will getthe lions share of the targeted traffic for your industry.
We are not just talking about to the top of Google for just any old keywords, they need to be the most targeted keywords in your niche. This is where good search engine keyword research comes in. Using the Google keyword tool you can actually determine what people are searching for.
One way of seeing instant results is by using PPC. While this will show you almost immediate results, it can be quite a costly affair.
So what is the first step to get your website t the top of Google? Pick a keyword rich domain name. Previously we wrote about how its all in the domain name. This is incredibly important as your first step. You need to pick a domain that is identical to your keyword (or as close) that is .com, .net, .org or .info. Personally I would always try .com first then .net and so on.
Next you need to use those keywords you researched and create pages themed around them. This way when you start to rank you will also rank for the most important keywords in your industry. For all of this I like to use WordPress. It’s easy to install and very easy to use, plus search engines love blogs. Try and write two posts a day for 2 weeks to give the search engines something to work with.
Next, when you have 1-15 pages on your site, submit your sitemap to Google.
Then it is the most important part. Keep trying to write one post a day. And start link building. Link building will help drive your website up the rankings.

Search Engine Optimization And Submission Services
When choosing a company to look after your search engine optimization and submission services you really need to be careful who you go with. Unfortunately (as with any industry in the world) there are a lot of SEO companies out there that will promise you the world and not deliver. The most commonly used ploy that should immediately raise some sort of red flag is the “top spot guarantee”. Tons of companies will happily promise you the top spot on Google in no time. There is a huge problem here:
1. There is no way ANYONE can guarantee the top spot on search engines. Period. There are many people and SEO companies that will promise this so be careful.
2. IF they do get you to the top quickly, chances are they would have used questionable techniques, otherwise known as blackhat methods. These might get you up the rankings quickly to start with, but search engines will soon figure this out and will result in your website being penalized, if not banned.
What you should look for in a search engine optimization and submissions services company is one that can set achievable, well thought out goals. A good SEO company will assess exactly what your company requirements are and come up with a solution to best enhance your visibility on the SERPs.
Many companies might offer a little “extra” by stating that they will submit your website to the top 500 search engines on the web. Think about it for a second, how many search engines do you know? In fact, how many search engines do you use? There is no point in submitting your website to hundreds of websites if no one actually goes to them right?
What I like to look out for is a company that ranks highly in the SERPs for terms like “search engine optimization” or “SEO”. Clearly they know enough to get their own website to rank. There are a lot of companies that will bid on Google Ads to get noticed on the front page. I am not saying that they are bad companies, but wouldn’t you rather go with one that is ranking organically rather?
These are a few tip for you to follow when choosing the right search engine optimization and submission services company for your online business

Know Your Enemy Part 3 – Get Them Links!
In the first part of know your enemy, we spoke how to analyze your competition. In the second part, our on page assault we saw how you can analyze competing websites in your industry and learn from their mistakes and make your website as search engine friendly as possible. Now we come to one of the most important parts of the SEO process – link building. This is one of my favorite methods to find quality, one way links.
From the first two steps you would have come up with some great keywords. You would have also been able to distinguish exactly who your competition is and what they are doing on their websites. By now (hopefully) you would have a nice website built, used your research to come up with better on page optimisation than your competition. Now its time to build links.
It wouldn’t be part of know your enemy if it this did not have something to do with your competition. What I like to do is analyze my competitions’ inbound links and see whether I can get one from that website too.
All you need to do is use Yahoo! Site explorer
Type in link:www.competitorswebsite.com
You will get a list of many pages that link to your competitor.
Now go through the list and make a spreadsheet of websites that you are going to contact and ask about a link.
Remember, its quality not quantity when you are link building.

Linkbuilding Tip – Something A Little Different
The problem surely will arise at some stage. You have been relentlessly building targeted, oneway links, to your website. Using all the tips and tricks that you have learned. You have submitted your website to a million and one directories, you have written tons of articles and submitted them all over the web strategically linking back to your website. You have commented on blogs, used social media, forum posting the list goes on. Sometimes the linkbuilding scene can get saturated and you need to think outside the box.
No For Something Completely Diffferent.
Do you know what 404 pages are? If you use this blog for example and copy this into the address bar :
http://seotipstricksandmore.wordpress.com/this-does-not-exist
you will come to a page that doesn’t exist.
Right so how can these help you with your linkbuilding crusade, I hear you ask.
Well, there millions of 404 pages out there. And once upon a time those were working pages, and those working pages might have been linked to by other people…..
See where we are headin’?
Right, so now we need to put the big G to good use and type in a few little search terms. Lets say that we are trying to find links for an online toy shop, type in:
“404 not found” toy shop
then
“404 not found” online toy shop
then
“404 not found” online toy store
Basically you type in “404 not found” NICHE HERE.
You see some nice results! Quite a few webpages that are not there anymore. You next step is using Yahoo!’s site explorer and find out if there are any links coming into that site.
If there are, go to the pages where those links are and send them an email explaining that the link is pointing to a dead page and they should rather link to you.
That’s a little different way to get some new links to your website.

Content Is King – Make It Work For You
The world wide web is a collection of billions of pages of content. You can access this content at the click of a button. Some is good, some is bad and some is just downright ugly. As a website owner the content on your website is what will seperate you from the rest of the pack. This is why, in our day and age on the internet, content is king. For this very reason, if you ever hope of making a success of an online venture, you need to make sure that your content is smartly written and very good. You need to do something to stand out from the rest of the crowd. Here are a few ideas on how to make sure your content works for you – SEO style!
Keyword research is the first and definitely one of the most important steps to ensuring your content will ever be seen by the masses. The idea here is to make sure that you craft your content (webpages) around keywords that people are actually searching for. And how do you do this? Read about the best free keyword research tool. This way you will get a great idea of how you should be building your website and creating your content to maximize your SEO potential.
Theme your pages. This cannot be overlooked. There are so many websites that try to target a whole lot of different keywords on a single page. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make. It is extremely difficult to rank for more that one or two of your main keywords per page. What I like to do is theme pages around one or two keywords max. After you have done your keyword research, group your keywords together theming ones that are HIGHLY relevant together.
Write your content. I am sure you have heard the age old saying “failing to plan…” Well this is ever so true on the net. You have researched your keywords, themed your keywords and now you are ready to write some great content. As a rule of thumb I always try to make my website pages around 500 words. I think this is a good amount of content to have on one page.
So remember content is king – plan ahead and maximize your websites web presence!
